Pension Review Board Executive Director Amy Cardona will leave the agency Sept. 25 because of a planned family relocation, the PRB announced Friday, Aug. 14.

PRB Chair Stephanie Leibe has appointed Deputy Director Ashley Rendon to serve as interim executive director following Cardona’s departure, according to a PRB news release. The board will determine a timeline for hiring a permanent executive director.

Rendon, a native Texan, joined the PRB in 2008 and has worked across several teams and policy areas during her tenure with the agency. She has served as deputy director since 2022, focusing on organizational planning, information technology and program support.

Rendon holds a master’s degree in public administration with a focus on legal and judicial administration from Texas State University. She earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from DePaul University in Chicago.
