Texas Pension Review Board to Review and Revise Key Administrative Rules

The Texas Pension Review Board is reviewing several of the state agency's key rules and seeking public input.

The Texas Legislature requires the PRB to oversee all state and local government retirement systems to ensure they're actuarially sound and comply with the state's reporting requirements. The agency periodically reviews and revises its administrative rules to keep them current and effective.

On Oct. 6, 2023, the PRB published a notice in the Texas Register of its intent to review the following chapters of Title 40 of the Texas Administrative Code:

  1. Chapter 601 – General Provisions
  2. Chapter 603 – Officers and Meetings
  3. Chapter 604 – Historically Underutilized Business Program
  4. Chapter 605 – Standardized Form
  5. Chapter 607 – Public Retirement System Minimum Educational Training Program
  6. Chapter 609 – Public Retirement System Investment Expense Reporting
