Austin Police Retirement System 2025 Job Description Summary: The Director of Finance is responsible for managing all accounting, financial reporting, and financial control functions for the Austin Police Retirement System. This role requires a proficient understanding of investment operations and governmental accounting practices, as well as the ability to collaborate with executive leadership to provide accurate and timely financial insights. The Director of Finance will play a key role in managing cash flow for investment and System operations, as well as preparing the system’s annual comprehensive financial report and annual administrative budget.

The Texas Civil Commitment Office (TCCO): The Texas Civil Commitment Office is seeking a General Counsel II for its Health & Human Services Comm. TCOO is a small state agency with a critical public safety mission — to provide intensive supervision and treatment to civilly committed sexually violent predators. TCCO is a separate state agency that is administratively attached to the Health and Human Services Commission. 

Executive Director: The Austin Police Retirement System (APRS) is seeking an experienced and trusted leader to serve as its next Executive Director. The position will provide strategic and operational leadership for a public retirement system serving approximately 1,600 active members and more than 1,400 annuitants. Reporting directly to the Board of Trustees, the ED will lead a seven-person team and oversee the System's operational, financial, and organizational performance.

This is an opportunity for a thoughtful, experienced leader to shape the System's long-term direction while ensuring strong day-to-day execution, exceptional member service, and the continued sustainability of APRS. The ED will serve as a trusted partner to the Board and a visible representative of the System, building strong relationships with members, staff, City officials, regulators, consultants, and other stakeholders.
